Saturday at Work

Saturday, 1:32 pm, and I’ve been at work for 6 and a half hours. But I get to leave soon, so all is not lost…

My plan for the rest of the day:

1. Sleep
2. Catch up on all the t.v. shows I taped this week — “West Wing”, “ER”, and “Buffy” (“One of these things is not like the other…”)
3. Do my lesson plans for tomorrow
4. Sleep s’more!

Had a good night last night. Mom rolled into town just before I got home from work, and we treated ourselves to a feast at the Ironhorse Restaurant, in nearby Ashland. Love that place. The best part was the salad: baby spinach, watercress, pistachios, apple slices and pumpernickel croutons in a sherry dressing…yum.

Can you tell I’m hungry? The doughnuts that our boss brought this morning were my salvation (or downfall, depending on your point of view) but I’m ready for something more.

15 minutes to go…

I’m really not that upset with having to be here on a Saturday. I like feeling useful and needed, and I am both with this project. Plus, I’m getting smart at math again, which hasn’t happened since high school Calculus. I love that feeling, of old skills set aside and picked up again at need…if only I could whip out the Elgar Cello Concerto as easily as I can remember how to manage figures, I’d be set.

I’ll be coming in after Sunday School tomorrow as well. Gonna be that kind of weekend. But in the meantime, I have the aforementioned afternoon of sloth before me, so happiness reigns. So may it be for you all!
