Jeremiah Sparks (1) was born about 1770 in Probably North Carolina. He died before 1850 in Burke Co., now Mitchell Co., N.C.. Jeremiah Sparks, the youngest son of William and Ann Sparks, moved from Surry County, North Carolina to Burke (now Mitchell County, N. C.) County, North Carolina around 1800, settling on Bear Creek in what is now Mitchell County, N. C. [Taken from History of Toe River Valley Heritage by Dr. Lloyd Bailey and copied by Danny A. McBee].
