Apple has released the long awaited Quicktime 6, incorporating MPEG layer 4 technology. This in spite of long standing disagreements with the MPEG group about the licensing terms for the codec. The final license apparently includes provisions that eliminate some of the license fees if you have less than 50,000 subscribers. Probably a good release to download if you want to watch the MacWorld coverage this week…
