LINDA FREEMAN JARRETT
MARSHALL - Linda Freeman Jarrett, 95, died after a brief illness on Monday, Jan. 29, 2001.
She was born on Oct. 2, 1905, and was a lifelong resident of Madison County. She was a graduate of Dorland-Bell Institute in Hot Springs. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher for much of her adult life. She was one of 11 children born to Sallie and Dave Freeman. She was the wife of the late Olin Jarrett who died in 1974 and had continued to live in the family home until her recent illness.
She is survived by her three children, Jewell Jarrett Church of Hot Springs, Forrest Earl Jarrett and Olin Jarrett Jr. of the family farm in Buncombe County; four grandchildren, Neal Gregory Jarrett, Robert Owen Jarrett, Timothy Olin Jarrett and Esta Marie Jarrett; and a sister, Hattie Ponder.
A celebration of Mrs. Jarrett’s life will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Madison Funeral Home. The Revs. Mark Ball and Charles Phillips will officiate. Interment will follow in Antioch Baptist Church cemetary.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
